What’s Wrong With This Picture?

By Mark Harvey

_____I was watching television when a Viagra commercial was being shown.
Normally no big deal; I see them on television all the time, but this one was
different. Why? Well, it has a guy running out of his house to the sound of “We Are
the Champions,”
by Queen. Normally I associate this song with the movie, Revenge
of the Nerds
, where in the final act, the Nerds get support from their Lambda
Lambda Lambda fraternity brothers at the big pre-game bonfire and everyone
realizes that they too are a nerd, freak or geek inside. But now when I hear the
song, this commercial pops into my head. Thank you very much Pfizer.

_____My problem with this commercial does not end there. That same guy who
runs out of the house, continues running down the street high-fiving and celebrating
with other men in the neighborhood. Then cue the elderly man coming out of his
house because Viagra is not only for men with a mid-life crisis or experimenting
college students. It’s going to take a lot of alcoholic beverages to wipe that image
from by brain. I even saw a woman dancing around in the commercial. So after
watching this, my first thought was, is there some kind of erectile dysfunction
epidemic in this town or what? It’s some type of Love Canal contamination or there
must be a toxic waste dump nearby, because what guy would want to live in the land of no pop tents?
Thank You.
