I’M LOVIN’ IT

By Mark Harvey

_____On some of their recent radio and television ads, McDonald’s is promoting a
way customers can buy a meal for a homeless person. At first, it seemed like a
noble idea. With the loose change in my pocket, I’m practically half way to reaching
their dollar menu anyway. But then someone told me about the film, Supersize Me.

_____So, I came to the conclusion that McDonald’s is trying to use public
fundraising to kill the homeless. I am a little conflicted by this. On the one hand, I
want to help the homeless. On the other hand, I do not want to help them develop
liver failure and die. So, if I buy a meal, am I supporting charity or a diabolical
corporate plan to thin out the herd. It’s not an easy question to answer, so I will
leave it to others to make that kind of life and death decision. Maybe there’s a
Burger King around here. Thank You.
